Just after having layed of 450 jobs some time back at its Research Triangle Park R&D facility Sony Ericsson has announced that it will be, within 1 year, lay of 2000 jobs and close 4 facilities globally in order to reduce expenses and bring the company back to profitability since all its revenues are currently in the red. First up, they will be closing down the RTP headquarters by the 3rd quarter of 2010. Then their American HQ’s is going to move from RTP to Atlanta.
